Wound Care Nurse - LPN/RN - FT
POSITION
Summary:
$12,000 SIGN ON BONUSThe purpose of this position is to administer house and physician/physician assistant/nurse practitioner prescribed treatments to residents, as well as supporting the charge nurse in the care-giving needs of the residents.
Essential Functions:

o Administer treatments, house or physician/physician assistant/nurse practitioner orders to residentso Accurately record in the electronic health record treatments and changes in condition of area being treatedo Keep treatment cart clean and well-stocked with supplieso Observe for changes in resident's condition and take appropriate actiono Determine the practical application of specific procedures for individual residentso Perform hand hygiene and conduct other infection control methods between treatments, resident, and as often as necessaryo Document and chart facts and information in a professional, clear, and comprehensive mannero Recognize and respond to changes in residents' conditions and document observations, interventions, and outcomeso Recognize, intervene and report accidents and incidents when they occuro Participate in care plans as appropriateo Recognize, intervene, and/or report complaints and grievances from residents, family members, visitors, and employeeso Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions, and other information relating to residents, employees and the facilityo Follow the established universal precautions and isolation procedureso Encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in residents' personal and health care needsRequired Skills:
o Attend and participate in orientation programs, on-going training and educational classeso Inventory and request infection control equipment, supplies, etc.
o Assist in updating written policies and procedures on infection control of the facilityo Participate in surveys made by authorized government agencieso Complete medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
o Communication skills and active listening o Possesses good interpersonal skills while dealing with emotional or difficult situations; Responds promptly to resident's needso Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisorRequired Work
Experience:
o Minimum of six (6) months experience working in a hospital, long term care facility or other health care institution, with experience implementing total patient care and care planningLicensing/Certification/Education Requirements:
o Graduate from accredited school with a Licensed Practical Nursing degreeo Current State of Tennessee License Practical Nurse licenseOther Requirements:
o Position may require unscheduled overtime, after hours, and week-end worko Must be willing and able to work flexible hourso Travel required Required Computer Software/Equipment used:
